Dr. Zoran Aleksic

Dr. Zoran Aleksic FCs (SA) Ophth, is an eye surgeon and Ophthalmologist specialising in cataract / lens surgery and laser refractive surgery (Lasik / PRK laser refractive surgery for far & near sightedness and astigmatism). Dr. Aleksic’s current practice is located in The Point Mall, Sea Point, Cape Town and performs procedures in the West Coast (Vredenburg), Southern Suburbs (Claremont), Atlantic Seaboard (Sea Point) and Cape Town CBD.

Short History

Dr. Zoran Aleksic has dedicated his career to providing exceptional eye care. After graduating from Belgrade Medical School in 1990, he gained valuable experience in ophthalmology while working at Edendale Hospital and Grey’s Hospital in Pietermaritzburg, as part of the University of Natal’s Medical School satellite unit.

His specialist training took him to Frere Hospital in East London, where he served as a registrar in Ophthalmology. He then completed his advanced training at the University of Cape Town (UCT), refining his expertise at Groote Schuur Hospital and Red Cross Children’s Hospital. Dr. Zoran obtained his Fellowship of the College of Ophthalmologists of South Africa (FCs(SA) Ophth) in 1997.

Dr. Aleksic has been involved in Laser Refractive Surgery since his specialist training and began performing laser procedures in private practice in 1999. Over the years, he has remained committed to advancing eye care and providing high-quality treatment to his patients.

This year, Dr. Aleksic celebrates 26 years in private practice, a milestone that reflects his dedication to improving vision and enhancing the quality of life for his patients.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree, obtained in Belgrade, Serbia

• South African ophthalmologist who has achieved Fellowship of the College of Ophthalmologists of South Africa (FCs(SA) Ophth)
